Not as useful as the iOS version
Clear, as an iOS app, is enjoyable to use. The primary reason is its interface, which makes all the sense in the world on a small touchscreen. It’s intuitive, and easy to use, and fast, and attractive.
As a desktop app, it makes no sense at all. The design and interaction, even though it’s visually identical to the mobile interface, seems completely arbitrary. It’s not intuitive in the slightest. I’ve been using this app for over a year and it still takes me two mistaken guesses to perform an action before I accomplish it. The main reason for using the desktop version is for syncing with the iPhone version, and syncing is slow.
That said—I do enjoy having a desktop portal to my iPhone app. If Clear had an interface more appropriate to desktop use (perhaps visually alluding to—versus recreating—the mobile version) I’d enjoy this app a lot more.
