Sync from Mac is broken

Does not work reliably with iCloud. Please investigate and fix. Don’t pop up an alert saying it’s probably an iCloud issue. Also, the UI concept, which works great on a touch interface (phone) is pretty painful on the Mac. I wish I had stupid + and Back buttons instead of having to drag and stretch the list with my mouse… I love the iPhone version… but please fix the sync with Mac!

iCloud Sync Very Inconsistent

I bought this app because it supposedly had such great cohesiveness across platforms. Unfortunately, since I bought it, it has only synced twice with my phone. This is unacceptable because I primarily add items on my phone, then view and cross them off on my computer; this system is impossible with this app. I regret buying this app, and should have chosen a free service such as Evernote or Onenote. However, I do really enjoy the design of their applications - both mobile and Mac OS. This is by far the best non-iCloud-based list-making application I have used. If you don’t need iCloud integration, and you just want simple lists, this is the app for you.

iCloud Sync issue

Use to be a fantastic simple to-do app. I encountered iCloud sync issue 2 years ago. The support explained me how to fix it and it worked for a while, but it failed again. Can not sync the information at all over 1 year. Too bad

Used to love it, now it doesnt work.

Dont expect to be able to use iCloud sync with the desktop version, its been giving me trouble for the last few months. Also it appears that Realmac has stopped supporting this application, their support page for Clear is gone entirely.

best. to do app. ever.

Cloud syncro is impeciable between desktop and mobile. so simple. super useful. theres nothing i would do to make this app better. my productivity is easily the best it’s ever been. my entire life runs on this app. thanks guys!

Really not optimised for mac!!

I bought this app because I was bored always have to take my iPhone while working on my mac. It is the worst App on mac I’ve ever used. It is like having your iPhone screen on the mac, but not optimised at all for the trackpad, or just not optimised at all. At least the iCloud sync works well.

really bad useless

It doesnt synchronise and reports errors on MAC all the time, completely unreliable

Love(d) this App; (Used to be) my Go-To List Manager

I was ecstatic after I found Clear (on the App Store for my iPhone) some time ago -- finally, a great basic tasks manager for someone who just wants to make lists. I wasnt looking for scheduling, reminders, graphics, whatever -- I just wanted to make lists. Simple grocery lists, to-do lists, work lists, who-wants-what-from-ChinaEats list; whatever. It just plain worked. And using the app couldnt be easier -- simple to create new lists, simple to check stuff off (and a touch of fun, too, in the pops and bloops for marking stuff as completed/gotten). And I always had my iPhone with me, so adding to the list was as near as my pocket. Still, I wished I had the ability to use it on my Mac; quickly call up a list and type it there (I type worlds faster on a physical keyboard). And my wish was answered -- Clear was available for the Mac -- and it syncd between devices as well. No matter where I was, and what I was using (iPhone, Mac, iPad), I could check, mark, and update my lists, and know that they were syncd across devices. Nirvana for a list-maker. Flash-forward to 2016: sync has been broken since last year, repeated emails to RealMac go unanswered. The "Support" link above is broken. Searching the RealMac site, youll find a Product Road Map on their blog section dated November of 2015 that says: "I dont have a timeframe for when well ship this new sync update, but I just wanted to let you know that its in the works. After weve "fixed sync", well be back to adding new features and more timely updates to Clear." Just accept that this program has been abandoned on all platforms, and find a replacement.

Just right for me

I’ve tried a number of To Do lists and there are many that are helpful, but Clear is the one that just works right for me and my needs. Simple, very Clear, and easy to use and keep up to date..

Great app, would love some updates

I bought Clear for iOS on its first release date. I fell instantly in love with it. I use it to manage all my tasks, including non-repeating todo’s with alerts. When it came out for Mac, I bought it again immediately. I love the interface but think there can be some updates. The interface on the iPad would look great and be much more useful on the Mac. I’d like to be able to view my lists and the entries of the selected lists. I can understand in portrait mode on the iPhone, this might not work great. But, on the mac, I think it should be the default. If I want to move an item from one list to another, I have to bring up a new viewing window, then drag/drop it then close the extra window as it’s confusing. [As an aside, I’d also like landscape mode on the iPhone app so I can view my list of lists as well as the entries in the selected list.] Keep up the good work and pleaes continue to update this truly essential app.

Great app; poor icloud syncing

Great app, excellent interface. Everything is great with the exception of spotty iCloud syncing between desktop and mobile. Will bump up to 5 stars when this is fixed.

Used to be awesome, not so much anymore...

I installed Clear a couple years ago, and it has been my most used app since then. I love the simplicity of the app, but mostly I loved the seamless syncing between my Mac at work, my Mac at home, my iPad, and my iPhone. It seems like support has been dropped for this app, and icloud sync is intermittent at best. Very sad to see this app go to waste. This is my first (and only, at the time) review on the iTunes app store, but I felt so disappointed uninstalling this app that I felt I should make it known to others that support is non-existent. I hope Realmac can get their act together.

Is this abandonware?

There’s no reference to the product on the Realmac website, except for a redirect page to the iOS appstore. The Mac OS product Help page leads the same place. (“Having trouble with the OS X product? Just buy the iOS product — that will fix you right up!”) The support link on the Mac Appstore page for the product is a dead link. This sort of nonsense might be acceptable if the program worked correctly, but it doesn’t: sync across devices with iCloud doesn’t work, plain and simple. It’s a nice standalone, single-device list manager, but without a working and reliable sync facility, it’s of no more use to me than a scrap of paper, which I can at least keep in the pocket of whatever trousers I happen to be wearing.

A lifesaver

I have ADHD and remembering to do things is a constant challenge. This ap manages almost all my activities and allows me not to have to remember. The only way it fails is if don’t write it down. It has sim[ified my life ways that wouild have considered unattainable.

So helpful!!!

I’m constantly working from TDLs and I need an app that will work across all my devices. I didn’t want to spend a lot for bells and whistles my life doesnt require. I have found the perfect “combo-solution.” I use CLEAR for my CATEGORIZED TO DO action list. The things I need to do today, this week, or soon, in the order of their importance - which may change from day to day. I also use Apple Reminders for regularly recurring tasks and reminders. CLEAR is my Hot List It keeps the clutter out of my other reminders. My CLEAR lists are TODAY, GTT (my business), CRAFT, TECH, ESL, AT HOME, SUMMER PROJECTS and LONG TERM. Within each of those I have lists, but by far the most useful part of CLEAR is my TODAY list. If you want a basic, very customizable, notify or don’t notify task manager, and you are not a high power exed, this app works beautifuuly across your Apple universe. I tried several others - some were more complex than my requirements, some were only iOS but not Mac, others were just far more than I was willing to pay. CLEAR is a simple productivity app that I would not want to live without. Because it works, I can work and get a lot of things off my TDL.

Absolutely Essential

Todo lists, movie lists, wishlists, IOU list,s, task lists, project lists, and just about any othe rlist you can think of; Clear is my first and only choice. Syncing between my devices is amazing and the inherent simplicity enforces focus and minimalism. Every time I use this app in public, the person I’m with will ask about the app and what I think about it. I’ve been using Clear since the day it was released, and I use it just about every day now.

Used to love it

I did really like some of the features of Clear, but in the past year or so the iCloud syncing failed on me so many times and the procedure for fixing it was a major pain. If you just need a nice lookng note app that doesn’t sync, Clear is pretty nice, but if you want syncing with your other devices i would not recommend it as Apple’s Notes is much more dependable.

Abandonware. No documentation. Inflexible, bugs.

Update July 9 2016: Help documentation no longer exists. I can’t set time for reminders, only the date and no documentation is available. I really dislike this developer. Clear has a lot of potential to be a great indispensible tool, but I’m now considering other options because of the lack of some basic functionality. Do you want to copy a list from clear and paste it into another app? Sorry. There is exactly one way to get lists out of the Clear app. You must EMAIL it to yourself. On top of that, the email Clear creates is heavily formatted, so you STILL CAN’T COPY AND PASTE THE LIST without a lot of garbage and hand editing. This app has been around for several years, and it still can’t do this. I see nothing difficult about implementing such a basic feature. For some reason the developers have not included this and it is very frustrating. Also, icloud sync between devices works poorly. On more than one occasion I have the iphone and mac version open and icloud enabled on both devices but they do not sync up even after forcing them to sync (which involves a special dance to be performed).

No longer supported by the developer; save your money

Realmac no longer supports this software; they removed it from their website (try and follow one of the links provided at the top of the page and you’ll see). Just like Ember (another product from this company), this software should no longer be offered on the App Store, or at least it should be free. It used to be a fine to-do manager in a pinch, for those who just need a list to “cross things off” (although it really never was THAT user friendly; mostly it provided a “new paradigm”). It has been plagued with sync problems for quite some time. Save your money (and Apple really should start to remove abandonware from its App store).

Best to do list app!

Clear has everything you need and nothing you don’t need. You can add to do items so easily and quickly and move the order around as your plans change. I love swiping to complete an item. I use it all day every day on iphone, ipad and macbook air. Love this app and recommend it to all friends, all the time.
